Page created on: 2008-03-21 Costa Rica is one of those countries where streets are not numbered, roads are often poorly signed, if at all, and many towns and villages are not marked. As a result, it is easy for visitors to get lost on their way to their desired destinations, end up somewhere else, or just give up. This site attempts to improve that situation by providing GPS coordinates of interesting places, GPS tracks and bus routes. The data can be used with Google Maps, Google Earth, or hand held GPS units to plan trips and find destinations. We also provide information and photographs of popular travel destinations. Our endeavor is costly. Extensive travel is required to acquire the GPS data, sometimes taking days at a time. In addition, there are equipment costs (GPS units, digital cameras, data processing and transfer equipment, servers), as well as Internet access and bandwidth charges. Your donation will help us continue our mapping efforts, and support the development and expansion of this site. We'll be happy to list our serious donors and sponsors on our Credits And Thanks page. Or, if you want to send something tangible instead of money, we can always use high-sensitivity GPS devices that can be connected to serial or USB ports, as well as digital cameras and video devices.
